Russia issues a warning as NATO returns to “schemes” from the Cold War.

NATO summit outcome to be analysed for threats posed to Russia’s security and ‘all means’ available in response.

The most recent NATO summit, according to Russia, shows that the Western military alliance has reverted to “Cold War schemes,” and Moscow is prepared to counter such threats with “all necessary means.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin made his remarks as US President Joe Biden declared at the conclusion of the NATO summit on Wednesday that Putin had a “craven lust for land and power” and had drastically underestimated the military alliance’s resolve to support Ukraine.

Putin “was betting NATO would break apart when he unleashed his brutal war on Ukraine, in his craven lust for land and power. But he was mistaken,” Biden said at the conclusion of the two-day summit in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.

“NATO is more united, energised, and powerful than it has ever been. More crucial, in fact, to our shared future, he added.

The outcome of the NATO summit will be “carefully analysed” for the security threats it poses, the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement late on Wednesday.

“The ministry stated in the statement, “We will respond in a timely and appropriate manner, using all means and methods at our disposal, taking into account the challenges and threats to Russia’s security and interests that have been identified.

Western powers were determined to divide “the world into democracies and autocracies”, the ministry said, adding that “the crosshairs of this policy of searching for enemies is aimed at Russia”.
