Since the start of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in 2022, Moscow and Kiev have exchanged around 60 prisoners.
The Russian Defense Ministry declared that 300 prisoners of war had been exchanged between Russia and Ukraine.
According to a ministry statement on Monday, Kiev has repatriated 150 Russian servicemen, all of them are receiving medical and psychological support in Belarus, a neighboring country.
All of the personnel that Ukraine has transferred will be sent to Russia for medical care and rehabilitation, the statement added.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) facilitated the swap, the statement said, adding that 150 Ukrainian servicemen were returned in return.
The prisoner exchange has not yet been verified by Ukrainian officials.
Since the start of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in 2022, Moscow and Kiev have exchanged around 60 prisoners.
In mid-October, Moscow and Kiev exchanged 95 prisoners of war each, marking their most recent exchange.
Russia and Ukraine accused one another of slowing down prisoner exchanges last month.
Tatyana Moskalkova, Russia’s ombudswoman, stated earlier this month that Moscow is in talks with Ukraine for a “large exchange” of detainees, but that it has not yet achieved an agreement with Kiev on the matter.
