WASHINGTON: Former high minister Imran Khan’s conspiracy claims are ‘ veritably disturbing, ’ says a US State Department functionary while italicizing Washington’s desire to rebuild a strong cooperation with Pakistan.
Addressing a convention of Pakistani croakers in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Director Pakistan office NeilW. Hop described US- Pakistan relations as “ a cooperation we can not do without ”.
“ We’ve to work with Pakistan in diving global affairs. It’s a cooperation that’s essential for us, ” he said.
Mr Hop said that a Pakistani delegation would visit Washington on July 25 for the largest ever health addresses between the two countries.
Pakistan’s Ambassador Masood Khan said that the US- Pakistan relations had formerly stabilised and were “ poised to come indeed better ” in the near future.
A former Pakistani minister to the US, Jalil Abbas Jilani, still, conceded that relations were passing through a delicate phase and suggested “ the reanimation of structured high- position dialogue ” to keep the cooperation on track.
Ambassador Khan suggested strong marketable ties between the two countries, reminding American investors that “ Pakistan has a large and vibrant Middle class and offers great openings for investment. ”
Responding to a question about former high minister Imran Khan’s claim of contended US hindrance in Pakistan’s domestic politics, Hop said “ It’s veritably disturbing. There’s absolutely no verity in those allegations. We support a strong, popular setup in Pakistan. We’ve no interests in its domestic politics. ”
Jilani said the entire occasion was veritably woeful, adding that he has had particular relations with the US functionary, Donald Lu, intertwined in this alleged conspiracy. “ He has positive passions for Pakistan and has rejected involvement in any conspiracy, ” he said.
Hop too called Lu a thorough “ professional who can not make similar statements. ”
Jilani suggested diving this and other analogous issues “ in a discreet and equitable fashion ”.
