Zelenskyy of Ukraine describes the strike as “brutal” and makes a new request to allies to provide Ukraine with air defenses.
A private clinic in the southeast Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia was demolished by a Russian missile strike, leaving three people dead and sixteen injured. Numerous others were buried beneath the debris, according to officials.
Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov posted on the Telegram messaging app that rescuers were still searching for at least eight more victims on Tuesday while working in mountains of debris from the building that fell following the strike in the city center.
When the attack occurred, 26-year-old ophthalmologist Anna Zubchenko was working in her cabinet.
“The ceiling just fell on my head; I didn’t hear an explosion. I had another doctor with me, and she took a harsher impact. After I pulled myself together, I said, “Please help,” Zubchenko recounted.
Her colleague, who was later evacuated by rescuers, was partially dug out with her assistance. She claimed that because no one was yelling, she was “even more scared by the silence.”
“Brutal strike”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president, described the strike as “brutal” and renewed his request for friends to provide Ukraine with air defenses.
“There are enough systems in the world to accomplish it. He stated on X that Ukraine sent allies the list of required elements, adding that the issue is solely up to political decisions made by the US government, European leaders, and other international partners.
Russia frequently launches attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding area since beginning its war operation in Ukraine in February 2022.
Ten people were murdered and over twenty injured in an attack on the city on Friday.
