Erdogan reiterates his backing for the Government of National Unity in Libya.

President Erdogan stated that tight communication and collaboration will be maintained to protect Turkey’s and Libya’s common interests in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, has reiterated that his country recognizes the Government of National Unity (GNU) of Libya as the legitimate government of the nation.

Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s dedication to strengthening its alliance with the North African country by saying, “We will continue to develop relations with Libya in many areas, particularly energy, security, and maritime.”

In an effort to improve relations between the two countries, Erdogan hosted Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh in the Presidential Complex on Wednesday.

Ibrahim Kalin, the head of the National Intelligence Organization, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also attended the private meeting.

The leaders talked about important regional and international problems, including bilateral relations, with an emphasis on energy, security, and marine cooperation.

The two presidents also emphasized how crucial it is to stay in close communication and work together in order to protect their shared interests in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s resolve to cooperate with Libya in order to maintain regional peace and prosperity.
