A coalition of fifty nations, led by British Defence Minister John Healey, announces a fresh missile supply during a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group at a US air base in Germany.
Ukraine will receive 650 lightweight multirole missiles from the UK valued at 162 million pounds ($213.13 million) in order to defend itself against Russian bombing and drone attacks.
The fresh missile delivery was revealed on Thursday as British Defense Minister John Healey was in attendance at a US air base in Germany for the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, an ad hoc coalition of some 50 countries.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the first batch of missiles announced on Friday is anticipated to arrive before the end of the year, in line with the new government’s pledge to expedite aid deliveries to Ukraine.
Healy said in a statement, “This new commitment will give an important boost to Ukraine’s air defences.”
