After nearly 20 years, the Taliban is back in power in Afghanistan. It took the armed group less than 10 days to sweep across every province and all the way to the presidential palace in the capital, Kabul except Panjshir which fell to the Taliban yesterday.
Slowly, slowly, then seemingly all at once. Just four months after President Biden announced he would withdraw the United States from Afghanistan, the Taliban has taken control of Kabul, almost 20 years since the group was ousted from power by NATO forces.
