Wagner group confirmed that Russian pilot Prigozhin died in the jet crash.

10 persons, including Wagner’s CEO Yevgeny Prigozhin, were reportedly on board the aircraft when it crashed north of Moscow, according to Russian authorities.

Russian mercenary leader Yevgeny Prigozhin passed away, according to a Telegram channel connected to his Wagner organization.

Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group and a real patriot of his motherland, perished as a result of the actions of Russian traitors, according to a post on the Grey Zone channel on Wednesday.

The revelation followed earlier claims by Russian officials that Prigozhin was named as a passenger on a private plane that crashed on Wednesday night north of Moscow with no survivors.

“An investigation has been launched into an Embraer plane crash that occurred tonight in the Tver region. According to the passenger list, the name and surname of Yevgeny Prigozhin is among them,” Rosaviatsia, Russia’s aviation agency, was cited as saying by the state TASS news agency.

A private Embraer Legacy aircraft that was flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed close to the village of Kuzhenkino in the Tver Region, according to a statement from Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry.

It stated that there were ten passengers, including three staff members. It added that preliminary evidence indicated that everyone on board had perished.

Planemaker says it’s compliant with sanctions on Russia

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer later declared that it complied with all international sanctions placed on Russia following the event.

According to a corporate spokeswoman, “Embraer has complied with international sanctions imposed on Russia.”

The Embraer Legacy 600 (plane number RA-02795), which was reportedly carrying Prigozhin, fell off the radar around 6:11 pm (1511 GMT), according to the Flightradar24 web tracker.

Unverified video that was uploaded on social media showed what appeared to be a private jet plummeting to the ground.

According to the website International Aviation HQ, the Legacy 600 entered service in 2002, and around 300 were made up until production ended in 2020.

According to International Aviation HQ, there has only been one accident involving a Legacy 600, which happened in 2006 when it collided with a Gulf 737 while flying from the Embraer factory in Brazil to the United States.

Despite the plane’s damage, the pilot managed to land it without any fatalities or injuries.

According to the website, a subsequent investigation blamed the Legacy’s crew rather than any mechanical issue.

Given his falling out with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Wagner head Prigozhin’s potential demise in a plane crash would not be shocking, according to a senior White House official.

Speaking on behalf of the National Security Council, Adrienne Watson said in a statement on Wednesday, “We have seen the reports” of the disaster.

No one should be shocked if confirmed, she said.

A private army marched on Moscow as a result of the tragic war in Ukraine, and now it appears that something similar has happened.

The event, in which a private plane crashed northwest of Moscow, was conveyed to President Joe Biden, according to the White House.

A senior assistant to the Ukrainian president said that the accident was a Kremlin signal.

“Putin is sending a message to Russia’s elites ahead of the 2024 elections with his demonstrative removal of Prigozhin and the Wagner command two months after the coup attempt. ‘Beware! Mykhaylo Podolyak, a presidential assistant from Ukraine, posted the statement on social media.

The exiled leader of the opposition of Belarus, where some Wagner fighters moved after their short-lived mutiny in Russia, said that no Belarusian would miss Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, who is feared dead in a plane crash.

“The criminal Prigozhin won’t be missed in Belarus. He was a murderer and should be remembered as such. His death might dismantle Wagner’s presence in Belarus, reducing the threat to our nation and neighbours,” Belarusian opposition chief Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said on social media.
