A new campaign mocking Trump’s offer for Greenland states, “Help Denmark Buy California – Because Why Not?” and adds that he would be “willing to part with it for the right price.”
In exchange for President Donald Trump’s contentious attempt to seize Greenland, a campaign has been started in Denmark to wrest California from the US.
The goal of the $1 trillion “Denmarkification” campaign, which got underway Monday, is to buy the state.
The campaign website highlighted California’s advantages, including its 300 days of sunlight annually, significant technological advances, and “avocado toast forever.”
Additionally, the campaign announced that Disneyland would be renamed “Hans Christian Andersenland” in honor of the well-known Danish author of fables.
“Trump isn’t exactly California’s biggest fan,” the campaign argued, adding that “he’d be willing to part with it for the right price.”
The “Rule of law, universal health care, and fact based politics” are what the Danes promised to introduce to California.
Trump is interested in Greenland because of its strategic location and abundant mineral riches. Greenland has been a Danish territory since 1953.
Trump declined to rule out military or economic measures to secure Greenland, saying it was essential for “the protection of the free world.” This heightened tensions.
Owning Greenland is a “absolute necessity” for US economic stability, according to Trump, who has previously compared the purchase to a “large real estate deal.”
