MOSCOW: Despite warnings from the West and the United Nations Secretary-General, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday inked covenants to the addition of four Moscow- enthralled Ukrainian regions — Donetsk, Kherson, Lugansk and Zaporizhzhia — at a grand form in the Kremlin.

The development came on the day when Kyiv formally requested pres to track Nato’s class. “We’ve formerly proven our comity with Alliance norms. We’re taking a decisive step by subscribing to Ukraine’s operation for accelerated accession to Nato,” Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a videotaped statement.

At the televised form to formalize the annexation, Putin joined hands with Moscow- installed heads of the regions on a stage in front of the Russian nobility and chanted alongside them “Russia! Russia”.

He said people of the regions had made an “unambiguous choice” to join Russia after blackballs. “I want to say this to the Kyiv governance and its masters in the West People living in the Lugansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia(regions) are getting our citizens ever,” he said.

President Putin also called on the Kyiv governance to incontinently stop fighting and stop all conflict. and return to the negotiating table.

Rejecting media reports about Russia aiming for Soviet Union restoration, Putin said Russia was ‘ not seeking ’ to return to the Soviet Union. “The USSR is no more. We can’t bring history back. And Russia doesn’t need it presently. We aren’t seeking towards that,” he said.

In his speech, Putin also claimed the West wanted to see Russia as a “colony”. He said, “It’s out of capacity, with the end of maintaining its unlimited power. These are the real reasons for this cold-blooded war that the West is waging against us. They want to make us into a colony,” Putin said in televised reflections.

“The West is ready to step over everything to save the neo-colonial system, which allows it to parasitize, and, in fact, ransack the whole world,” Putin said, adding that it was “critical for them that all countries surrender their sovereignty to the United States”.

Swift, severe warrants on Russia

In response to what US President Joe Biden called Moscow’s “fraudulent” claim to have adjoined four Ukrainian regions, the United States blazoned “severe” new warrants on Moscow. “The United States is assessing nippy and severe costs on Russia,” the White House said in a statement.

It also blazoned that G7 abettors support assessing “costs” on any country that backs the Kremlin’s attempt to incorporate the Ukrainian regions.

In a statement, Biden said, “The United States condemns Russia’s fraudulent attempt moment to addition autonomous Ukrainian home. Russia is violating transnational law, stamping on the United Nations Charter, and showing its disdain for peaceful nations far and wide.”

“The United States will always recognize Ukraine’s internationally honored borders” he continued.

UN chief’s warning

The UN Secretary-General before advised that if Russia moved ahead with its plans to add the four Ukrainian regions, it would mark a “dangerous escalation” that would peril the prospects for peace in the region. “Any decision to do with the annexation of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine would have no legal value and deserves to be condemned,” he said.

Still, Russia’s charge to the UN indicted Mr Guterres of violating the UN Charter with his reflections.

Russia interdictions UNSC resolution

Russia on Friday nixed a UN Security Council resolution introduced by the United States and Albania condemning Moscow’s placarded annexation of the corridor of Ukraine, and China chose to hesitate from the vote. The resolution called on member countries not to fete any altered status of Ukraine and obliged Russia to withdraw its colors. Secretary of State Antony Blinken before said that if the resolution failed, Washington would look to the UN General Assembly, the maturity of which suggested condemning Russia’s irruption of Ukraine.

‘West switched to sabotage’

Russian President, still, indicted the West of organising blasts that redounded in multiple gas leaks on the Nord Stream gas channels from Russia to Europe. “warrants aren’t enough for the West, they’ve switched to sabotage. unthinkable, but it’s a fact!” Putin said during his televised speech.

“By organising explosions on the Nord Stream transnational gas channels that run along the bottom of the Baltic Sea they actually started destroying European energy structure,” Putin said.

Unexplained gas leaks, anteceded by two explosions, passed on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 channels on Monday. Moscow and Washington both denied involvement in the incident.

Meanwhile, 25 people failed and 28 were wounded after Russian forces shelled a mercenary philanthropic convoy in the southern Ukraine region of Zaporizhzhia, indigenous governor Oleksandr Starukh wrote on Telegram.
