Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticized the West for raising pressures in Europe, saying it had inaptly assessed the outgrowth of the Cold War.
Speaking to elderly military officers on Tuesday, Putin said Russia would respond “ adequately” to any Western aggression and would develop its army further.
“ Why did they expand NATO and renounce the bullet defense covenants? They’re to condemn for what’s passing now, for the pressures erecting up in Europe,” Putin said, reiterating his demand for guarantees from the US and its abettors that NATO won’t expand eastwards.
After what it regarded as its palm in the Cold War, Washington’s judgment has been clouded by a swoon, he said, leading it to poor policy choices.
According to Washington, Russia has amassed knockouts of thousands of colors on the border with Ukraine.

According to readouts released by the Kremlin, Putin on Tuesday informed French President Emmanuel Macron about Moscow’s “ politic sweats on the subject”, and gave Scholz “ detailed commentary” on the drafts Russia-US security convention and a security agreement between Russia and NATO submitted last week.
In the discussion with Scholz, “ stopgap was expressed that serious accommodations would be organized on all the issues raised by” Moscow, the readout said.

Putin said during the meeting with elderly military officers on Tuesday that he hoped for formative addresses with Washington and Brussels on Russia’s demands.
“ Armed conflicts and bloodshed are absolutely not commodities we’d choose, we don’t want such a script,” Putin said.
“ We’re extremely concerned that rudiments of the US global bullet defense system are being stationed next to Russia,” he added, specifying that Romania and Poland would soon be able of launching Tomahawk voyage dumdums.
He said Russia’s proffers were no claim, but it had nowhere to retreat over Ukraine.
Speaking at the same meeting, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said the United States had stationed about colors near Russian borders and, alongside NATO abettors, constantly mounted breakouts by strategic bomber airplanes close to Russia.

The NATO-Russia Council (NRC) was created in 2002 to grease discussion between the Western military alliance and Moscow, but relations are strained and it last convened in July 2019 despite repeated calls by NATO to revive the format.
Also on Tuesday, still, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy raised frustration with NATO’s disinclination to speed up Kyiv’s class in the alliance.
