Under the Prime Minister Agriculture Emergency Program, the governments of Pakistan and Punjab launched this massive project to increase the productivity of paddy up to 10 mounds per acre of basmati and 20 mounds per acre of coarse rice, thereby increasing the profitability of rice farming. The retrieved area will be allocated for oilseed and high-value crops.
