ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that Pakistan asked for peaceful relations with India and resolution of the Kashmir issue and prompted the transnational community to play its part in this regard.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office(PMO), Mr. Sharif expressed these views during a meeting with the recently-appointed Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Neil Hawkins.
The PMO quoted the high minister as saying “Pakistan solicitations peaceful ties with India, grounded on the principles of equity, justice, and collective respect. In this environment, a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir disagreement in agreement with the applicable UNSC judgments and the wishes of the Kashmiri people was necessary.”
“The transnational community has to play a facilitative part in this regard, as it was essential for durable peace and stability in South Asia,” the high minister said.
Mr. Sharif also stressed the cooperation that Pakistan continued to extend to the transnational community in the wake of the situation in Afghanistan, particularly since August last time.
The Australian high manager recompensed the desire for further strengthening of bilateral relations and conveyed profound gratefulness for Pakistan’s facilitative part in safe evacuation of their citizens and others from Afghanistan. He thanked the high minister for entering him and expressed his resoluteness to further increase and diversify the being relations between Australia and Pakistan.
