PM Shehbaz praises the OIC’s “principled stance” regarding the Kashmir dispute

On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its “principled position and consistent support” for resolving the Jammu and Kashmir conflict.

He spoke with OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha about the organization’s support for the Kashmiri people’s aspirations and the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

The human rights and humanitarian situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir were emphasized by the prime minister.

Inviting the secretary general’s noteworthy visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Line of Control (LoC), PM Shehbaz highlighted that his visit would send “areas of strength for an of help” from the OIC to the Kashmiri nation in their “simply battle” for the right of self-assurance.

In addition, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s undying support for the Palestinian people and their cause. He emphasized that any answer to the Palestine issue should be founded on the pre-1967 boundary with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.

PM Shehbaz urged the secretary-general to accelerate efforts to address and alleviate the humanitarian challenges that Afghans face, recognizing that the OIC has increased its engagement with Afghanistan since the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Islamabad last year.

Shehbaz emphasized the significance of confronting the growing tide of anti-Muslim sentiment and attempts to undermine the sanctity of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Additionally, he voiced concern regarding the growing Islamophobic campaign, particularly in the region, where the anti-Muslim and anti-Islam agenda was being “pursued as an instrument of state policy.”

The OIC secretary general repeated the association’s full help for the goal of the Jammu and Kashmir question, as per the important Joined Countries Security Board goals.

Additionally, he expressed his condolences for the loss of lives and livelihoods caused by the country’s most recent climate-induced floods.

During Pakistan’s final term as Chair of the OIC’s CFM, the secretary general assured the prime minister of the full cooperation and support of the OIC Secretariat.
