PM AJK prioritizes Muzaffarabad development, Awami Action Agreement

Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has said that implementation of the recently signed Agreement with Awami Action Committee is one among his government’s foremost priorities. Speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) central leader and former Legislative Assembly candidate Sardar Mukhtar Ahmed Abbasi, prime minister Rathore assured that the basic issues faced by the residents of the capital city, Muzaffarabad, will be addressed on a priority basis.

Regarding the implementation of the agreement, the PM said he had raised the implementation of the  agreement at all relevant forums, including in his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.He added that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had also expressed his keenness in resolving matters relating to Azad Kashmir.

On the occasion, the prime minister announced a series of development projects for Muzaffarabad, including expansion and upgradation of CMH Muzaffarabad, improvement of the city’s electricity system, Lohar Gali Bypass Tunnel, construction of Domel Sayan–Manak Piyan Road, Rashidabad Ambor Bypass, Chehla Bypass, and water supply schemes for Gujra and Bararkot.He also announced the establishment of a town committee, a Basic Health Unit (BHU), and a girls’ degree college in Bararkot.He further said that repair or construction of a new Chehla Bridge, immediate implementation of the solid waste management project, construction of a walkway from Plate to Allama Iqbal Bridge, upgradation of Naluchi Ground, a water supply scheme for Daulat Colony, upgradation of educational institutions, and provision of land for graveyards for local residents and refugees would be ensured. Prime Minister Rathore said that the CMH flyover will be completed soon, while a meeting of all relevant departments will be convened within the next two days regarding beautification of the capital.

He added that during his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he would demand the establishment of a Danish School in Muzaffarabad.He also directed the Muzaffarabad Development Authority to review the Neelum Park project and submit a report.”Since the PPP government assumed office, there has been a positive shift in the region’s political environment”, the PM said, adding that the people have taken ownership of the government.He added that the PPP has a strong relationship with the people of Kashmir, a bond consistently highlighted by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto.”Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s slogan, “Hamara Nara Sab Pe Bhari, Raye Shumari Raye Shumari” has gained popularity among the Kashmiri masses”, he remarked.The PM further said, “Our love for Pakistan is eternal; we are Pakistanis, and Pakistan belongs to us”.The reception was attended by Senior Minister Mian Abdul Waheed, ministers Sardar Javed Ayub, Syed Bazal Ali Naqvi,Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Sardar Zia Qamar, Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed, Member of the Legislative Assembly Ms. Taqdees Gilani, government adviser Ahmad Sagheer, PPP leader Mubashir Munir Awan, and others.
