Pakistan and Turkey to shore up strategic, economic ties

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkey on Wednesday pledged to enhance their strategic and profitable relations and agreed to take measures for barring terrorism.

The countries made the commitments during a one-on-one meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. They latterly made their pledge public during a common press conference at Presidential Complex in Ankara.

On an assignation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Mr. Erdogan agreed to visit Pakistan in September this time for addresses issues of collective interests.

At a form witnessed by Prime Minister Sharif and President Erdogan, the two sides inked six bilateral memoranda of understanding on public debt operation, cooperation between credit guarantee institutions for SME backing, casing, public-private cooperation models, especially in transportation and health, knowledge sharing in profitable and social policy planning, and specialized cooperation in trace engineering.

Delegation- position addresses also took place in which Prime Minister Sharif and President Erdogan led their separate sides.

At the common press conference, Prime Minister Sharif said “ Our relations bedded with artistic, profitable, politic and strategic ties will be enhanced in the days to come. In fact, Turkey is like our alternate home. ”

He said this time the two sides were celebrating the 75th anniversary of their bilateral relations which prospered under the dynamic leadership of President Erdogan. “ I’m veritably happy to advertise that the coming high-position meeting between the two sides will be held in Islamabad in September, ” he added.

The high minister invited Turkish investors to invest in Pakistan’s hydropower and renewable energy and said Turkey was relatively ahead in this sector. “ Invest in this sector in Pakistan to make a profit and we will get cheap energy, ” he added.

He said the two nations always stood by each other in their time of need. “ People of Pakistan support Turkey and Turkey support Pakistan on Azad Jammu and Kashmir issue, ” he said, adding that Pakistan would noway abandon Kashmiri people.

He recalled that the Turkish defense minister had visited Pakistan on May 20 and the two sides decided to enhance defense cooperation and Turkey agreed to help Pakistan in copter manufacturing.

Prime Minister Sharif said Indian aggression in engaged Jammu and Kashmir was trouble to indigenous peace. “ Vis- à- vis Pakistan supports Turkish territorial controversies, fight against terrorism … Adversary of Turkey is an adversary of Pakistan, ” he added.

He said the two sides pledged to continue supporting the people of Afghanistan as Pakistan and Turkey were the two countries that sheltered the largest number of deportees in the world.

Speaking on the occasion, the Turkish chairman said he’d have a detailed talk with Prime Minister Sharif on a long range of issues and transnational matters. He said the two sides had agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in colorful fields.

“ profitable cooperation between the two countries is imperative, ” he added.

Mr. Erdogan pledged to support Pakistan’s station in Kashmir and expressed a desire to continue supporting the people of war-torn Afghanistan.

Shehbaz meets Turkish FM

During a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavusoglu, PM Sharif stressed the confluence between the two countries on a range of indigenous and transnational issues and stressed the need for continued close collaboration.

The high minister particularly underlined the significance of adding bilateral trade volume to$ 5 billion over the coming three times.

He also underscored the resoluteness to completely grease Turkish companies in Pakistan and invited them to invest in different sectors, including food processing, husbandry, automotive, information technology, hydel, solar, and wind energy.

Noting the loyal support of the two countries for each other on issues of core interest, the high minister thanked the foreign minister for Turkey’s principled policy on Jammu and Kashmir.

In Afghanistan, Mr. Sharif stressed the significance of addressing the dire philanthropic situation, the release of Afghan means to help stabilize the frugality, and continued sweat for sustainable peace and stability in the country.

PM invites Turkish investors

PM Sharif said Pakistan “ authentically and seriously ” wanted to boost bilateral, trade, and artistic ties with Turkey as he made the case for the Turkish business community to invest in Pakistan.

“ serve to say, we’re then to convey this communication to our Turkish sisters and sisters, President Tayyip Erdogan and his platoon, and to the Turkish business community that we authentically and seriously want to work with you, ” the high minister said while speaking at the Turkey- Pakistan Business Council in Ankara.

“ We’ve been mates and have supported each other through thick and thin, ” he said, adding that he’d entered “ hundreds of businessmen ” between 2008 and 2018.

“ Your active participation in investments in Pakistan is largely appreciated. And overall your participation in philanthropic systems in Pakistan is veritably well-known. moment, we’re then to seriously engage ourselves with you because you’re veritably serious- inclined business people and your achievements are outstanding and a shining illustration for all of us.”

He called for the two countries to unite and cooperate in colorful sectors, including machine assiduity, husbandry, cloth, and indispensable energy.
