A joint training exercise between the Pakistan Army and the Royal Saudi Land Forces (RSLF) culminated in Khairpur Tamewali (KPT), Bahawalpur on Tuesday, the military said.

“The training provided an excellent opportunity for the troops of both brotherly countries to enhance their tactical, technical and professional abilities through mutual exchange of respective operational experiences,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Last month, a joint exercise between the two forces titled Al-Samsaam-VIII-22 took place at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Pabbi.

The two-week-long joint exercise was a series of ongoing bilateral exercises between the two militaries.

According to the military’s media wing, it focused on counter-terrorism operations including cordon and search, combat patrols and dealing with IEDs.

It had further stated that the exercise provided participating troops with an opportunity to benchmark their respective operational practices and procedures as well as learn from each other’s experiences.

Earlier, during the same month, a joint mechanised training exercise was carried out between the two forces in Multan.

The exercise aimed at enhancing and strengthening the existing military cooperation between the two forces was held in the city.
