Pakistan’s DERA ISMAIL KHAN, 30 July (Reuters) – In Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday, a suicide bomber detonated explosives at a political rally, leaving at least 42 people dead and more than 130 injured, according to police and rescue personnel.
In the former tribal region of Bajaur, which borders Afghanistan, the explosion happened during a gathering of the conservative Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) party, which is well-known for its ties to hardline political Islam.
