Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, issues a warning to the people of Lebanon: if they do not reject Hezbollah, Israel may unleash the same degree of destruction on that country as it unleashed on Gaza.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, has threatened the people of Lebanon, saying that if they don’t “free” their nation from Hezbollah, they will endure “destruction and suffering” similar to that of the trapped Palestinians in Gaza.
In a video speech to the people of Lebanon on Tuesday, Netanyahu stated, “You have an opportunity to save Lebanon before it falls into the abyss of a long war that will lead to destruction and suffering like we see in Gaza.”
Speaking about Hezbollah, he added, “Hezbollah will continue to try to fight Israel from densely populated areas at your expense if you don’t stand against them, Lebanese people.” It doesn’t matter whether Lebanon is sucked into a larger conflict,” he declared.
The majority of the responses to his video on Twitter attacked him for carrying out lethal raids on Lebanon, claiming that Israel is the only nation at fault for the conflict and that he has no right to make demands on the Lebanese people.
Israeli assaults on Palestine and Lebanon
Since September 23, Israel has carried out devastating attacks in Lebanon that have left over 1,200 people dead and over 3,600 injured. Over 1.2 million people were also displaced by Israel’s assaults.
Since October 7 of last year, Israel has collectively killed over 2,100 Lebanese citizens and injured nearly 10,000 more.
In the meantime, Tel Aviv has wounded approximately 100,000 Palestinians in confined Gaza and murdered close to 42,000 of them, the bulk of whom were women and children.
Israel’s assaults on Lebanon stoked concerns that Tel Aviv’s hostilities against Palestine and Lebanon would spark a full-scale conflict throughout the region.
