London, (PR) : On the anniversary of the Sopore tragedy, President of the Overseas Pakistanis Welfare Council Kashmir Forum London, Malik Ameer Kabul, said in his message that the Sopore tragedy is a tragic and unforgettable chapter in the history of the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom. He said that this heart-rending incident not only plunged the Kashmiri nation into deep sorrow but also shook the conscience of the world.
Malik Ameer Kabul stated that the sacrifices of unarmed and innocent Kashmiri civilians in the Sopore tragedy are clear evidence that the Kashmiri people have been struggling for a long time for their basic human and democratic rights. He said that the sacrifices of these martyrs will never go in vain and that the Kashmiri people’s struggle will one day surely meet with success.
He urged the international community to take serious notice of the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to play its role in granting the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
In conclusion, while paying tribute to the martyrs of the Sopore tragedy, the President of Kashmir Forum London said that overseas Kashmiris will continue their efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue around the world and will keep raising the voice of the Kashmiri people at every forum.
