In maiden official visit to US, FM Bilawal holds ‘productive’ meeting with Blinken

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday held a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his demoiselle-sanctioned visit to New York, as they bandied bilateral relations, indigenous situation, and cooperation in colorful sectors between the two countries.

The foreign minister had arrived in the US on Tuesday to attend the two-day clerical conference on the trouble to global food security, started by the Russian irruption of Ukraine, on the assignation of Blinken.

In a series of tweets, Bilawal exfoliates light on crucial talking points of his meeting with the elderly US functionary.

“We reaffirmed the significance of the 75th anniversary of Pak-US relations and collective commitment to strengthening broad- grounded, comprehensive ties between the two countries,” Bilawal wrote in a tweet after the meeting.

The foreign minister said he’d in-depth conversations on issues impacting indigenous peace and security, including Afghanistan.

” (We) resolved to work together to meet the challenges of food and energy security,” he said.

The two sides also bandied expansion of cooperation in trade and investment, energy and climate change, health and education, IT and tech, and husbandry as well as the significance of” trade over aid”, according to Bilawal.

He said the two countries will continue cooperation in the defense and CT sectors.

Meanwhile, US State Department prophet Ned Price, in a statement, said Bilawal affirmed a participated desire for a strong and prosperous bilateral relationship during a meeting with Blinken.

“The clerk and the foreign minister bandied expanding cooperation in climate, investment, trade, and health as well as people-to-people ties. They underlined the significance of US-Pakistan cooperation on indigenous peace, counterterrorism, Afghan stability, support for Ukraine, and popular principles,” the statement added.

Before this month, Blinken had called Bilawal and invited him to the food security meeting at the UN headquarters.

Shortly after Bilawal arrived in New York on Tuesday, a State Department prophet released a statement, assuring Pakistan of strong US support for their sweats to rebuild the Pakistani frugality.

“The United States “ will continue to work bilaterally on ways to grow investment and trade openings to make a prosperous and stable Pakistan,” the prophet had told Dawn in Washington.

Meanwhile, the foreign minister also met United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres moment at the UN Headquarters.

According to the Foreign Office, Bilawal underlined the significance attached to multilateralism and the UN in Pakistan’s foreign policy.

He stated that Pakistan stuck forcefully to the principles of the UN Charter and always supported results to global issues in agreement with those principles.

Bilawal particularly emphasized the need to advance the attainment of the first two Sustainable Development Pretensions (SDGs) aimed at ending poverty and hunger.

Opining on the situation in Ukraine, the foreign minister appreciated the UN clerk general’s sweats to promote a negotiated result. He also participated in Pakistan’s perspective on the matter.

Bilawal also stressed the grim situation in Indian Immorally Enthralled Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) marked by grave violations of mortal rights and illegal demographic changes.

He underlined that Pakistan asked for peace with all its neighbors, including India, which he said will continue to remain fugitive unless the Kashmir disagreement was resolved in agreement with the UN Security judgments and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

Bilawal also lauded the clerk general’s commitment to combat Islamophobia and also reaffirmed the resoluteness to work nearly with him on the matter.

He appreciated the UNSG’s part in mobilizing philanthropic and profitable backing for the Afghan people. The foreign minister participated in Pakistan’s concern about the spillover of insecurity in Afghanistan into Pakistan.

He emphasized that the transnational community’s response must address the critical philanthropic requirements and avoid a complete collapse of the frugality in Afghanistan that will have dire consequences for ordinary Afghans.
