Next year, in observance of the 50th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations being established, South Korea and Singapore will extend their collaboration in areas including artificial intelligence.
On the 50th anniversary of the two countries’ establishment of diplomatic relations, South Korea and Singapore have decided to embark into a strategic collaboration, according to South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol.
On Tuesday, Yoon is in Singapore for a conference with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
He declared in a televised speech that as part of their strategic alliance, the two countries will intensify their cooperation in areas like startups and artificial intelligence.
Singapore is a hub for LNG imports, while South Korea is the third-largest importer of LNG globally.
According to Yoon, the two parties also inked a memorandum of agreement on Tuesday to collaborate on LNG supplies, which will support the stability of the global supply chain.
LNG swaps, group purchases, and collaboration in the event of an LNG supply chain crisis are a few examples of the possible forms of cooperation.
