Sharaa demands attention be paid to Syria’s economic growth, rehabilitation, and territorial integrity.

Ahmad al Sharaa, the head of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), met with Geir O. Pedersen, the UN Special Envoy for Syria, to talk about the latest events in Syria.

According to Syrian transitional government officials, Pedersen met with Sharaa in Damascus on Sunday for the first time since the overthrow of the Bashar al Assad regime.

Sharaa emphasized throughout the conference the necessity of updating and bringing UN Security Council Resolution 2254 into line with the actual Syrian scenario.

He emphasized that in order to solve the problems affecting Syrians, prompt and efficient cooperation is required.

Sharaa demanded that attention be paid to Syria’s economic growth, rehabilitation, and territorial integrity.

In order to enable the voluntary return of refugees to Syria, he also emphasized the significance of establishing safe conditions and offering political and financial assistance.

He emphasized that these procedures must be followed methodically, with care, and under the guidance of knowledgeable personnel.

According to reports from an aircraft observation station, Israeli airplanes carried out airstrikes on military installations in the Syrian provinces of Tartus and Latakia late Sunday.

Military installations and munitions storage facilities were among the important locations in western Syria that were the focus of the attacks.

One of the airstrikes was followed by a violent explosion near Tartus’s Hiresun village.
