Hamas declares its commitment to the ceasefire deal that mediators have presented.

The announcement follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement that the cabinet will not convene to approve the ceasefire agreement for Gaza.

Izzat el-Reshiq, a senior Hamas official, stated on Thursday that the Palestinian resistance group is dedicated to the ceasefire deal that mediators announced on Wednesday.

Earlier, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Hamas, the Palestinian resistance group, was causing a “last minute crisis” and that his cabinet would not convene to endorse the ceasefire agreement for Gaza.

Netanyahu’s staff made the vague accusation that Hamas was trying “to extort last minute concessions” by breaking some of the deal.

This is not the first time Netanyahu has abruptly ended ceasefire negotiations.

At least 48 Palestinians have been murdered by Israeli strikes in Gaza in the last day.

The 48 bodies of those slain since Wednesday noon have been taken to various hospitals, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza. The head of the ministry’s registration section, Zaher al-Wahedi, told The Associated Press that women and children made up around half of the deceased.

The ceasefire agreement signed Wednesday calls for the release of thirty-three hostages over the next six weeks.

A second phase will be arranged during the first to free the others, including male soldiers. Without a permanent peace and a complete Israeli exit, Hamas has stated that it will not free the remaining hostages.
