The itinerary for Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s official visit to the United States includes “multiple multilateral and bilateral engagements” in New York and Washington, DC, from December 14 to 21.
A Foreign Office press release from Monday (today) stated that the foreign minister will begin his trip by meeting UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and taking part in a “high-level debate” at the UN Security Council on the topic of “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: on December 14, “New Orientation for Reformed Multilateralism”

The Ministerial Conference of the G-77 and China from December 15-16 in New York will then be hosted and presided over by Bilawal.
According to the press release, “the agenda of the conference includes a discussion on multiple challenges facing developing countries in attaining Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, climate-induced disasters, and geopolitical developments.”
On December 19, FM Bilawal will travel to Washington, DC, where he will meet with high-ranking government officials, congressional leaders, Pakistani-American businessmen, and community members. The press release added, “He will also engage with think tanks and the media.”

The FO stated, “To continue the momentum in Pakistan-US bilateral relations, particularly in areas of trade, investment, climate resilience, and economic development,” that “bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest will be discussed during his official meetings.”
The FO went on to say that Bilawal would discuss Pakistan’s perspective on climate change and educate his counterparts about the “colossal damage” caused in Pakistan by climate-induced floods and the government’s plan for rebuilding and rehabilitating after the floods.
