ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday launched its ‘ Digital Flood Dashboard ’ to insure translucency in the allocation of finances and to keep the nation informed about the deliverance and relief conditioning in the flood tide- hit areas.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman advised that Sindh is still in a dangerous situation as Indus River is still in high flood tide at Kotri shower with inrushes of further than 6,00,000 cusecs.
The dashboard was launched by Planning Minister and National Flood Response and Coordination Centre(NFRCC) principal Ahsan Iqbal. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the gate had been launched on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to insure translucency and give information to the general public as well as benefactors about the relief conditioning and distribution of finances.
Stating that the cataracts have affected nearly 33 million people, the minister said the scale of the disaster was so big that indeed if it had happed in any advanced country, it would have been larger than their “executive capabilities”.
Mr Iqbal said the damage was being assessed on a diurnal base and final estimates would be available after water retreated from the affected.
Minister warns of further rains
Talking about the flood tide situation in Sindh, Ms Rehman said the high flood tide situation in the Indus River was posing a serious trouble to the girding regions.
She also advised of further downfall in the southern corridor of Sindh, which she said could prove mischievous to relief and deliverance operations.
Agitating the brewing health extremity, she said Karachi was seeing an outbreak of dengue and the cases were formerly 50 per cent advanced than last time.
She said sweats aimed at furnishing drugs and croakers to 81 disaster- hit sections were being expedited.
Calling food Instability ‘another impending extremity’, the minister said that around 70pc of the onion crop along with rice and sludge had been fully destroyed in the country.
She said critical relief in the form of food, canopies and drugs was being handed by public and parochial disaster operation authorities, but more coffers were needed to meet the requirements on ground.
She said the death risk in the country has reached,422 while Sindh has recorded the loftiest number of deaths with 594 casualties.
She thanked the UN Secretary- General Antonio Guterres for his visit and ‘ making an unambiguous plea for philanthropic backing to Pakistan ’.

Telecom spots restored
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority(PTA) has said that the maturity of mobile phone halls that were damaged by cataracts had been restored and the services proceeded .
In a press release, the PTA said that due to the common sweats of the authority and telecom drivers to restore connectivity, the number ofnon-functional spots had been reduced to 190 which was a bare0.3 pc of the total spots across the country.
The press release added that presently, 153 cell spots in Sindh and 37 in Balochistan are affected and inapproachable due to floodwaters.
The PTA is continuously covering the situation and will continue to modernize the public about the restoration of services, the press release said.
