Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : The first phase of maize seed sowing at the “Organic Growers Agriculture Farm Parsha” has been completed in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, aiming to produce high-quality maize seeds locally.Pertinently, the initiative has been designed to ensure a reliable supply of premium maize seeds for local farmers.Agriculture Officer Javed Riaz from the Extension Center Kahuri supervised the sowing of maize across 40 kanals of land at Organic Growers Farm Parsha on Tuesday.Along with Agriculture Department field staff local landowners took part in the effort, using line sowing techniques to ensure optimal planting.Speaking on the occasion, the agriculture officer Javed Riaz reiterated the department’s commitment to producing certified, season-appropriate maize seeds within Azad Kashmir.He said the initiative would go a long way to help farmers access quality seeds locally, improving yield and reducing dependency on external sources.Riaz also noted that the agriculture department offers round-the-clock support and services to assist and encourage farmers.It’s worth mentioning that Organic Growers Agriculture Farm Parsha is actively promoting organic farming practices and contributing significantly to the government’s efforts to fight against climate change.Through this initiative, farmers not only cultivate high-quality crops, fruits, and vegetables, but also plant eco-friendly trees each year.Additionally, organic growers are playing a vital role in raising public awareness about climate change—an effort that has been widely praised by the community.
