Dozens of Azerbaijani soldiers killed in border provocations by Armenia

Fifty Azerbaijani Soldiers have been killed in recent days in provocations by Armenia, Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry said.

“An aggregate of 50 service labor force of the Armed Forces, including 42 service labor force from the Azerbaijan Army and 8 service labor force from the State Border Organisation, was martyred while precluding large-scale provocations,” the ministry stated on Tuesday.

Azerbaijan has indicted Armenia of “large-scale provocations” in recent days, saying ravagers planted mines and Armenian forces carried out “ferocious” blasting on Azerbaijani positions.

These conduct by Armenian forces led to the battle, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said.

A meeting between Azerbaijan’s chairman and fortified forces commanders on Tuesday stressed that the responsibility for the current pressure “rests exactly with the political leadership of Armenia.”

Also on Tuesday, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said 49 Armenian dogfaces had been killed in the rearmost border flare- up with Azerbaijan.

Relations between the former Soviet democracy of Armenia and Azerbaijan have been tense since 1991 when the Armenian service enthralled the Karabakh region, also known as Upper Karabakh, a home internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan.

In fall 2020, Azerbaijan liberated several metropolises and over 300 agreements and townlets that were enthralled by Armenia, and the fighting ended with a deal brokered by Russia.
