Driven by strong winds and dry conditions, the blaze has grown from roughly 7,500 hectares to more than 30,000 hectares.

Following the growth of a blaze in the Grampians region, authorities in Victoria state, in southeast Australia, have issued evacuation orders, local media reported.

In western Victoria, police have warned residents of the danger and asked them to evacuate right away. According to ABC News on Saturday, a fire in the Grampians region had more than tripled in size in just one day.

Due to the fire’s spread, police also advised vacationers to stay away from the region.

People have been ordered to leave Bellfield, Bellfield Settlement, Flat Rock Crossing, Fyans Creek, Halls Gap, and Grampians Junction right away.

According to the broadcaster, the blaze has grown from roughly 7,500 hectares on Friday morning to over 30,000 hectares.

According to a representative of Forest Fire Management Victoria, the terrain was quite dry, and the wind is now driving the fire in certain places.

Glen Rudolph of Forest Fire Management Victoria stated, “Our strategy must be ‘burning out’ – the ‘fight fire with fire’ idea’ because this fire is in areas we cannot get machinery or crews into.”

In addition to more than 100 tankers and 25 planes, about 400 firefighters are now fighting the fire.

Following a “out-of-control” blaze south of Ballarat city last week, officials also issued evacuation orders for inhabitants of a number of communities in Victoria state.
