The separation of Athar Masood Wani, a fearless soldier who fought on the front of the media, journalist, columnist and intellectual associated with the Kashmir freedom Movement, is extremely painful. With their separation, the communication front of the freedom movement will be affected to a great extent. A vacuum has been created, which is difficult if not impossible to fill.These views have been expressed by Amir Hizbul Mujahideen and Chairman of Muttahida Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin Ahmed in his condolence statement released to the press.
Although his father Ab.Sadam wani was forced to migrate from the Occupied Kashmir Valley, he made the Kashmir Liberation Movement the cover of his life and did not leave it till his last breath. He was continuously engaged in the struggle for the success of Kashmir freedom Movement. Late Athar Wani also followed in the footsteps of his father and continued to contribute to the freedom struggle till his last breath.He was a fearless and brave person, he never felt any shame or fear in writing and speaking the truth. His funeral prayer was performed today in Rawalpindi, which was attended by a large number of Kashmiri community and later laid to rest at local graveyard.
