More than 390 deaths have been reported from the flood and cholera in Sudan, and many more have been forced to flee their homes as the disease spreads throughout the seven affected states.

According to the Health Ministry, the number of people killed in Sudan by floods and rain has increased to 205, with cholera deaths accounting for 185 of those deaths.

According to the ministry’s report on Sunday, there have been about 268 new cases of cholera reported, with six deaths in the states of Kassala, Nile River, and Gedarif.

With 185 fatalities, the overall number of cholera cases in the seven afflicted states now stands at 5,692.

The country’s officials proclaimed cholera to be an epidemic on August 12.

According to the ministry, 205 people have died as a result of floods and rainfall, while 886 more have been injured.

It further stated that since June, floods and rains have caused more than 26,000 fully damaged homes and 33,000 partially damaged homes.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) declared earlier in the day that since June, floods and storms had caused more than 172,000 Sudanese to be relocated from 15 out of 18 states.
