17 percent say they “somewhat” reject the plan, while 47 percent say they “strongly” oppose it, according to a Data for Progress poll.
According to a new survey, 64 percent of Americans are against President Donald Trump’s plan for the United States to take over embattled Gaza and turn it into what he called the “Riviera of the Middle East.”
According to the survey, which was carried out by the progressive think tank and polling firm Data for Progress, a sizable percentage of respondents voiced strong opposition to the idea, with 47 percent stating they “strongly” oppose it and 17 percent stating they “somewhat” oppose it.
Republicans were against the concept at 43 percent, compared to 85 percent of Democrats. Meanwhile, the initiative was endorsed by 46% of Republican respondents.
According to the survey, which polled 1,200 people in the US, such a proposal would entail forcing the approximately 1.8 million Palestinians who currently reside in Gaza to relocate to neighboring nations.
According to Data for Progress’s findings, “a strong majority of voters are against the US assuming control over Gaza and displacing its Palestinian population.”
Israeli slaughter
A shaky ceasefire agreement that went into effect in Gaza on January 19 halted Israel’s 15-month carnage, which has left the enclave in ruins and killed over 48,200 people. Trump’s plan to forcibly relocate Palestinians has been strongly opposed by Palestinians and the larger Arab and Muslim world.
The ‘world’s largest open-air prison’ is what Gaza has become as a result of Israel’s years-long embargo.
Nearly the whole population was displaced by Israel’s slaughter, which resulted in a severe lack of essentials including food, water, medicine, and electricity.
