After the campaigners were halted by security, Israel supporters threw insults and brutally attacked them.
When a number of protestors stormed onto the court brandishing Palestinian flags, a basketball game between Israeli team Hapoel Holon and French team Nanterre was disrupted.
The game was played on Wednesday in the Parisian district of Nanterre.
Social media users shared footage of the protestors escaping from the court’s security guards and entering the stands, where they were attacked by Israeli supporters.
Although they used force on the activists, police intervened to separate them.
Israeli supporters insulted the pro-Palestinian supporters throughout the confrontation.
An earlier decision by the Nanterre Municipality to hold the match without spectators was overturned by the Cergy-Pontoise Administrative Court.
Palestinian supporters organized a protest against the game in Nanterre, but it was prohibited.
Israeli aggression during athletic events
Following their rampaging across the city, pulling down Palestinian flags on private property, and yelling anti-Arab slogans, supporters of the Israeli football team Maccabi Tel Aviv caused mayhem in Amsterdam last month.
There has been a great deal of concern about the incidents, which happened before and after Maccabi’s game versus Ajax. There have been allegations of Israeli supporters fighting with onlookers, damaging property, and lighting a Palestinian flag on fire.
Videos circulated on social media show Maccabi supporters beating a local taxi driver, destroying private property, and even battling police officers.
