One of the Chinese nationals in the convoy outside the airport was hurt by an improvised explosive device, according to Zia Lanjar, the home minister for the southern Sindh province, which encompasses Karachi.
He claimed that the injured party had been brought to the medical facility.

About forty Chinese nationals came aboard a China Air flight at 9:45 p.m. local time (16:45 GMT), according to sources at Jinnah International Airport.
The airport was kilometers from where the explosion was audible.
