Thirteen persons were killed when an Indian Navy ship struck a passenger ferry in Mumbai; the reason of the incident is being looked into by the authorities.
According to a military official, an Indian Navy vessel lost control and struck a passenger ferry off the coast of Mumbai, killing at least 13 people.
The official said on X on Wednesday, “An #IndianNavy craft lost control this afternoon while undertaking engine trials in Mumbai Harbour due to engine malfunction.”
Consequently, the boat struck a passenger ferry, which then overturned. The spokeswoman stated that at least 99 people had been recovered thus far and that 13 fatalities had been reported thus far.
Resources were mobilized by local authorities, such as the police, Coast Guard, and Indian Navy, to carry out search and rescue missions.
Four helicopters were sent in to help with the attempts, local media reported.
