Juan Luis Ferrusca, the chief of Queretaro’s public security agency, reports that one suspect was taken into custody and that the car used in the attack was discovered abandoned and burned.
According to a local security officer, ten people were killed when gunmen stormed a bar in Queretaro, a city in central Mexico.
Juan Luis Ferrusca, the chief of Queretaro’s public security agency, said the attackers began fire inside the Los Cantaritos bar in the city’s historic area.
In a Saturday social media video, he stated, “Emergency services arrived at the scene and confirmed that at least four people armed with long weapons had arrived on board a pickup truck.”
“Inside, 10 people were reported dead and at least seven more were injured so far,” he stated.
According to Ferrusca, the car used in the attack was discovered abandoned and burned, and one suspect was taken into custody.
More than 450,000 people have been killed in Queretaro, one of Mexico’s safer cities, since 2006 due to a growing violence that is largely connected to gangs and drug trafficking.
