In a crucial TV appearance, vice president and presidential candidate Kamala Harris seemed to shy away from providing direct answers to numerous questions concerning Benjamin Netanyahu.

In an interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes, vice president and presidential candidate Kamala Harris appeared to sidestep many inquiries about Israel’s atrocities in besieged Gaza.

In response to a question regarding whether the US had any influence over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Harris stated that diplomacy is a continuous effort.

According to her, “the work that we do diplomatically with the leadership of Israel is an ongoing pursuit around making clear our principles,” and the US is indicating its position on the necessity of ending the conflict.

The interviewer challenged, “Do we (the US) have a close ally in Prime Minister Netanyahu?” in another question.

“The better question is, do we have an important alliance between the American people and the Israeli people?” Harris again changed the subject. Ignoring the interviewer’s query, “And the answer to that question is yes.”

Disregarding American Arab and Muslim voices
She reiterated the same unfounded allegations of sexual assaults on October 7, blaming the surprise Hamas strike without explaining what might have preceded it. The interviewer began by asking her how the US would end the war.

In a recent interview with CNN, Harris stated that, should she win, she has no plans to alter Joe Biden’s US policy.

Community leaders who are Arab and Muslim Americans have cautioned Harris and the Democrats on numerous occasions not to listen to their opinions and consider how voters may react to it in the election, particularly in battleground states.
