Sweden has briefly stopped aviation travel at Stockholm’s Arlanda airport overnight due to drone sightings, according to authorities.
According to a statement released by the police on Monday, an investigation into potential airport sabotage has begun.
The largest airport in Sweden, Arlanda, saw a halt to traffic at around 2300 GMT, with a restart at 0130 GMT, they said.
According to a spokeswoman for the aviation authority, four drones of different sizes were seen from the air traffic control tower, as reported by Daily Aftonbladet.
The representative stated, “A decision was then made to halt take-off and landing.”
The airport operator Swedavia acknowledged the temporary stop, but a representative declined to provide any details.
