Workshop covers a variety of African concerns, including politics, economics, and artificial intelligence as well as health.

The African think tank Platform hosted the first Prafrica Workshop in Istanbul, where participants explored a range of topics including politics, economics, artificial intelligence, and health.

The workshop’s chief, Souandaou Athoumani Ali, an Istanbul University student from the Comoros who also serves as the platform’s coordinator, told Anadolu that the goal was to share perspectives on Africa’s problems.

According to Ali, the platform was founded in 2019 and has been going over theses produced in Türkiye to find debate points.

According to him, the main goal was to offer fresh viewpoints on Türkiye’s African studies in the context of international scientific inquiry, grounded in Afro-realist and strategic theory.

He added that talks were on ways for African nations to solve problems like infectious diseases and political instability. The event included presentations spread across two hours, covering a variety of themes like politics, health care, and artificial intelligence.

African researchers comprise the Platform, which was created in May of last year, according to its general coordinator, Abdoul Fathi Sanogo, who was born in Burkina Faso.

Coming up with solutions that work for Africa
According to Sanogo, the platform works with professionals who are not from Africa and encourages active engagement from African scholars across the globe, not simply those who are in Türkiye.

According to Sanogo, Turkish was used extensively in the workshop presentations. The organizers selected Turkish as a common language in order to give African residents of Turkey a greater voice.

The Platform declared its intention to promote dialogues in which African perspectives are discussed and African-proposed solutions are investigated. The workshop made clear that its ultimate goal is to produce solutions that will help Africa.

The program brought together African students enrolled in Turkish universities and showcased their Turkish presentations.
