Pakistan stops a BLA terrorist attack on a Balochistan navy air station

Strongly armed gunmen tried to enter PNS Siddiq in the Turbat region, but Pakistani security personnel stepped in and eliminated all of the terrorists without causing any injuries among the armed forces or damage to critical equipment, according to officials.

A late-night attempt on a naval air station in southwest Balochistan was foiled by Pakistani security forces, according to officials.

According to a senior military official who spoke to Anadolu Agency on Monday, security personnel “neutralized all attackers” when four to six highly armed gunmen attempted to storm PNS Siddiq in Turbat district at ten o’clock at night.

He claimed that no losses to “sensitive equipment or casualties of our own troops” had been reported up to this point and that a clearing operation would start soon.

The military released no formal statement.

In a statement to local media, the Balochistan Liberation Army [or BLA], which is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, Britain, and Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Days have passed since eight gunmen broke into a government building in the vital port city of Gwadar last week. An eight-hour gunfight resulted in the deaths of all eight attackers and two army soldiers.

The largest but poorest region in Pakistan, mineral-rich Balochistan, has long been the target of strikes by the terror group against security personnel.

Baloch terror and other militant groups have been waging a low-intensity insurgency against security forces for a long time.

The province is also a major route for the $64 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a project that aims to link Balochistan’s Gwadar Port with China’s strategically significant northwest area via a network of pipelines, railroads, and roadways for the transit of gas, oil, and cargo.
