General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), met with Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman on Thursday to talk about ways to work together more.

The army chief arrived in the Kingdom early on Thursday, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), where he was greeted by Prince Khalid.

The Saudi defense minister congratulated Gen. Munir on his appointment as army chief at the beginning of the meeting.

According to the SPA, the two leaders emphasized the strength and longevity of their bilateral relationships during the meeting.

They talked about important regional and international issues of common interest as well as ways to support and improve military and defense cooperation.

Prince Salman, on the other hand, expressed his delight in meeting Pakistan’s army chief in a tweet today.

He continued, “We reviewed the bilateral military and defense relations, emphasized the strategic partnership between our brotherly countries, and discussed ways to strengthen our cooperation.”

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) previously stated that Gen. Munir would visit Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from January 4 to 10.

According to a statement made by the military’s media wing, “The COAS will be meeting the senior leadership of both brotherly countries to discuss matters of mutual interest, military-to-military cooperation, and bilateral relations focusing on security-related subjects.”

It’s important to note that this is Gen. Munir’s first official overseas trip since being appointed.
