Bilawal in New York to host G77 moot tomorrow

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the country’s foreign minister, arrived in New York on Tuesday to begin a seven-day trip to meet with world leaders at the United Nations headquarters and senior US officials in Washington.

In a statement after he left Islamabad, his office said, “The foreign minister’s program includes multiple multilateral and bilateral engagements in New York and Washington.”

The foreign minister will host and lead the ministerial conference of the G-77 and China, the UN system’s largest negotiating bloc of developing nations, during his six-day stay in New York.

During his time in New York, Mr. Bhutto-Zardari will also meet with Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General. He will speak at a UN Security Council discussion on “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Reformed Multilateralism’s New Direction

On December 19, the minister will travel to Washington, where he will meet with members of the community, congressional leaders, Pakistani-American businessmen, and high-ranking government officials. He will also interact with the media and think tanks.

He will discuss Pakistan’s perspective on climate change and the enormous damage caused in Pakistan by floods caused by climate change at the Foreign Office.

At the UN, the unfamiliar priest will seat a clerical gathering of gathering on improvement, which will be Pakistan’s last as G77 seat. In January 2021, Islamabad took over as the leader of the group. China and Cuba will take over as chairs of the G77 in 2023.
