RAWALPINDI Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa Wednesday said that the army had initiated its process of “catharsis” and anticipated that political parties would follow suit as well and reflect on their geste.
“This is the reality that there have been miscalculations from every institution, including political parties and civil society,” he said during his last address as the army chief during the Defence and Killers’ Day form at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
“No single party can take Pakistan out of the current profitable extremity,” he said, adding that assignments should be learned from similar miscalculations so the nation could move forward.
The COAS went on to say that a true popular culture has to be espoused in Pakistan by eradicating the climate of dogmatism.
“In 2018, using RTS as an reason the winning party was called named,” he recalled, adding that after being ousted via a no-confidence stir one party named the other as “imported.”
“We need to reject this station, winning and losing is a part of politics and all parties should have courage to accept their defeat or palm so that in coming election rather of an imported or named government an tagged government is formed,” he maintained.
The COAS said that armies around the world are infrequently criticised, still, Pakistan Army is frequently subordinated to review.
“I suppose reason for that’s the army’s involvement in politics. That’s why in February, the army decided to not intrude in politics. I assure that we( the service) are rigorously committed to this and will continue to be.”
He added that rather of drinking this indigenous process, some coalitions criticised the service using “unhappy and ungracious language”.
The COAS said that criticising the army is the public’s and political parties ’ right, but one should be careful with their choice of words.
General Bajwa said that a “fake and false narrative was cooked to inseminate a state of chaos in the country” and reiterated that the military leadership can do anything but go against the county
“Now an escape route is being taken from this false narrative. The elderly military leadership is being addressed with unhappy titles,” he added.
Berating the PTI’s “foreign conspiracy” narrative, Gen Bajwa said that it’s insolvable “or further meetly this would be a sin” if the army would be sitting actively amid a foreign conspiracy being incubated in the country.
“The Pakistan Army had enough openings and coffers to respond to this unhappy irruption; still, the military leadership showed courage in the larger interest of the country while abstain from making negative statements,” he said.
Still, Gen Bajwa advised that everyone should keep in mind that there’s a limit to this tolerance, “I wish to move forward by keeping away this unhappy and obnoxious geste against me and the army.”
Touching upon history during his address, the gregarious army chief said that he wanted to “correct” some data regarding the events of 1971.
“1971 wasn’t a service, but a political failure. Our army fought dauntlessly in East Pakistan and made unknown offerings. The number of dogfaces fighting wasn’t 92,000 but only 34,000,” the COAS said pressing the number were against 2,50,000 Indian and 2,00,000 Mukti Bahini dogfaces.
He added that the offerings of Pakistan Army were also conceded by the Indian army chief.
“The nation has not conceded the offerings of these dogfaces till date, which is a great injustice,” the gregarious army chief said while emphasising the service’s round- the- timepiece service despite review.
He added that the army has always served the country and the nation beyond its accreditation and will continue to do so.
“Nations that forget their killers fade down. During times of war and peace, Pakistan Army is always engaged in defending its motherland with their lives on the edge,” he said adding that offerings of killers are behind peace in the country.
General Bajwa, during his address, said that the introductory job of the fortified forces is to cover the geographical boundaries.
At the onset of the form, the COAS paid homage to the killers of the fortified forces and assured their families that the Pakistan Army will noway leave the bereft alone. He also apologised for the detention in the Defence and Killers ’ day form due to the cataracts.
“Originally, I would like to pay homage to the killers who are the pride of Pakistan while admitting the tolerance of their deprived families,” he said, cheering that the army will continue to fulfill their fiscal requirements.
“I’m giving my last address as the army chief moment. I feel proud to have served as the commander of this great army for six times,” General Bajwa said adding that the peace in metropolises and townlets is accredited to the offerings of its killers.
Defence and Killers’ Day form
The form was laid over in September due to the disastrous cataracts across Pakistan following heavy thunderstorm rains.
At the onset of the form, a videotape pressing the demolitions caused by cataracts in Pakistan was played. The military dogfaces, who contributed toward relief, deliverance and recuperation sweats during the flooding, were paid homage through the videotape.
A talkie named Falah-o-Behbood was also played during the form which was attended by serving and retired military officers at the GHQ. The talkie exfoliate light on the service’s sweats for the weal of its dogfaces and their families.
This was General Bajwa’s last Defence and Killers’ day form as Pakistan’s army chief and comes just six days before he’s set to retire from the post on November 29.
He was appointed army chief in 2016 for a three- time term, which was extended by three times in after congress enacted on the tours of services chiefs on the orders of the Supreme Court.
