FM Bilawal hopeful China ties will deepen in many areas

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China on Sunday reiterated their commitment to cementing bilateral relations in the fields of defense, trade, frugality, investment, health, husbandry, wisdom and technology, and CPEC for the collective benefit of the two counties.

The two sides made these commitments at a meeting of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi during the former’s demoiselle visit to China.

According to the Foreign Office, the visit coincided with the 71st anniversary of the establishment of political ties between China and Pakistan. The two leaders held in-depth conversations on the entire diapason of bilateral relations as well as indigenous and transnational issues of participated interest. The addresses were conducted in a warm and friendly atmosphere, in line with the finest tradition of collective trust and cooperation between the two countries.

According to a common statement, the two sides agreed that amidst profound indigenous and transnational changes, the significance of China-Pakistan strategic relations has assumed indeed lesser significance.

China and Pakistan reaffirmed their strong support for each other’s core interests and major enterprises and commitment to heightening strategic communication, including at the loftiest political position and practical cooperation, and erecting an indeed stronger China-Pakistan community with a participated future in the new period.

The two sides noted with satisfaction the steady growth of profitable cooperation between China and Pakistan. In this environment, they agreed that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has effectively bettered Pakistan’s structure and boosted its socio-profitable development.

Both sides expressed firm resoluteness to synergizing development strategies, pushing forward all CPEC- related systems in a safe, smooth, and high-quality manner, promoting cooperation in areas similar as frugality and trade, investment, assiduity, husbandry, health, and wisdom, and technology, contributing to the peoples’ well- being and delivering lesser benefits to original communities.

Noting with satisfaction the record bilateral trade achieved last time, the two sides agreed to work together to make optimum use of phase-II of CPFTA and work together to diversify their trade ties by heightening cooperation in import-acquainted sectors in Pakistan and integrating value chains of the two countries. Both sides also agreed on stronger collaboration in the services sector and skill development in tourism, education, fiscal, and information technology sectors.
Defense cooperation

They expressed satisfaction over the growing instigation of bilateral defense cooperation and exchanges. They underscored that China-Pakistan defense cooperation was in fact a factor of peace and stability in the region.

The two sides nominated terrorism as the common adversary of humanity and explosively condemned the Karachi University terrorist attack. On this, Pakistan reiterated that sweats will be made to speed up disquisition, quest down the lawbreakers, and bring them to justice. Pakistan briefed the Chinese side on its sweats to ensure the safety of all Chinese citizens, systems, and institutions in the country.

China appreciated Pakistan’s commitment to the safety and security of Chinese citizens. Pakistan and China will further enhance counter-terrorism and security cooperation. The two sides called on the indigenous countries and the transnational community to form a community and fight terrorism in all its forms and instantiations. The two sides expressed their determination not to allow anyone to damage the China-Pakistan iron brotherhood.

In the face of multiple traditional and non-traditional global challenges, the two sides agreed on the need for transnational cooperation and solidarity. They noted that grounded on the principles of palm-palm cooperation and participated benefits, Belt and Road cooperation has come an open and inclusive platform for transnational cooperation and is extensively eaten as a global public good.

The China-proposed Global Development Initiative (GDI) and Global Security Initiative (GSI) are new enterprise to respond to the pressing challenges facing the humanity.

The two sides bandied the Ukraine situation, noting the necessity of being alert to the negative spillovers of the Ukraine extremity, in particular precluding its impact on developing countries, and called on the applicable parties involved in the conflict to resolve differences and controversies through tactfulness and dialogue.

They reaffirmed the firm commitment to upholding the UN-centered transnational system, the transnational order grounded on transnational law, and the introductory morals governing transnational relations sustained by the purposes and principles of the UN duty, rehearsing true multilateralism, and promoting republic and rule of law in transnational relations.

The two sides hoped that the indigenous countries would uphold Asian values of collective respect, equivalency, and win-win cooperation, make an open and inclusive indigenous armature, safeguard peace and stability in the region, and advance common development and substance.

Both sides reiterated that a peaceful and prosperous South Asia is in the common interest of all parties.
The situation in held Kashmir

Mr. Bhutto-Zardari briefed the Chinese side on the rearmost developments in India- held Kashmir. The two sides underscored the significance of the peaceful resolution of the disagreement grounded on the UN duty, applicable Security Council judgments, and bilateral agreements.

Pakistan and China also bandied the rearmost developments in Afghanistan and agreed that peace and stability in Afghanistan were vital for indigenous development and substance.

Both sides support the continued donation of the medium of collaboration and cooperation among Afghanistan’s neighboring countries. They also reiterated their readiness to extend CPEC to Afghanistan in discussion with the Afghan interim government and to the collective benefit of all parties.

Mr. Bhutto-Zardari thanked State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi for the safe and secure return of Pakistani scholars in a phased manner to China. The two sides also decided to renew direct breakouts between the two countries at the foremost and latterly increase direct breakouts grounded on the evolving epidemic situation.
