FO summons Indian envoy over ‘killing’ of Pakistani prisoner in occupied Kashmir

Pakistan on Wednesday sought an explanation from India on the reported” killing” of a Pakistani internee in Indian guardianship in engaged Kashmir.

The Indian Charge d’Affaires was summoned to the Foreign Office and a strong kick was lodged on the reported payoff of a Pakistani mercenary internee, Zia Mustafa, in an incident involving Indian occupation forces in Poonch sector of enthralled Kashmir, a statement issued by FO spokesperson Asim Iftikhar said.

According to a report carried by The Hindu, Mustafa and three Indian security help were injured on Sunday when zealots opened fire on a common hunt party in Poonch. The report linked Mustafa as a”Pakistani terrorist combined with the Lashkar-e-Taiba”.

In the statement released moment, the FO spokesperson said that the Indian envoy was told that the reported payoff of the Pakistani internee — who was in Indian guardianship since 2003 — under” mysterious circumstances” at a position down from the captivity where he was locked, wasn’t only” interesting” but also raised serious questions about the well- being, safety and security of Pakistani captures in India.

“Regrettably, this isn’t the first similar incident. In history as well, Pakistani mercenary captures in India have been planting dead under inexplainable circumstances. Pakistan reiterates its commination of the cowardly Indian practice of extra-judicial payoff of Pakistani and Kashmiri captures in fake hassles,” the FO statement said.

The spokesperson said the Indian government was told to”urgently authenticate”this particular incident, shoulder a believable and transparent disquisition, insure justice, and hold the perpetrators responsible.
“The Indian government was further reminded to fulfill its scores to ensure the safety, security, and humane treatment of all Pakistani captures in Indian jails/ detention centers pending their release or extradition,” the FO spokesperson said.
