Pakistan and Facebook partner to fight Covid-19.

Pakistan and Facebook have teamed together to battle Covid-19, with the world’s most popular social media platform providing Marketing Partner Support and Ad Credits for anti-virus efforts, as well as assisting the government in increasing public interaction on these posts.

As part of these programmes, Facebook and a few ministries created films and messages aimed at increasing public “vaccine trust.”

The Ministry of Health increased its overall number of page likes to 470,000 as a result of the messaging initiatives, enhancing the government’s ability to communicate with the public and give information to its stakeholders.

Facebook stated in a statement that it’s crucial for people to come together as a community to safeguard each other through accurate health information and to boost vaccine confidence.

As Covid-19 vaccines become more widely available, Facebook, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has launched new profile frames that allow users to voice their support for vaccination with their family and friends.

People are encouraged to get the vaccine when they witness individuals they know and trust get it, according to research. In collaboration with the Ministry of Information’s Digital Media Wing, a campaign to raise awareness about recognising Covid-related misinformation on social media has been launched in Urdu for the Facebook community in Pakistan.

“The pandemic has brought to the forefront the importance of using digital tools for transmitting critical health information to citizens and keeping them safe and healthy,” Dr Sultan said, adding that Facebook has worked to take aggressive steps to remove harmful misinformation and connect people to resources from health authorities.
