ISLAMABAD: The US government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will contribute$ 7 million to the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) ongoing support for the Ehsaas programme addressing the secondary goods of Covid-19 in Pakistan.
USAID Mission Director Julie Koenen and ADB Country Director Yong Ye attended a signing form held in this regard on Thursday.
The ADB will use$ 7m to give cash subventions to Pakistani families in need of fiscal backing due to the epidemic, a US delegacy press release said.
The subventions will be distributed through the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme managed by the Benazir Income Support Programme. USAID’s finances also will give specialized and executive support to ensure effectiveness, responsibility, and translucency for the programme heirs.
Speaking at the form, Ms. Koenen said that fighting the epidemic would take significant coffers and critical, collaborative trouble among governments, civil society, the private sector, philanthropists, multinational organizations, and other transnational mates.
“ This donation to ADB will support the government of Pakistan’s sweats to apply the Ehsaas Programme through the provision of direct cash subventions to depressed Pakistani families affected by closures and work stoppages during the Covid-19 epidemic,” she added.
