Punjab’s healthcare department reports nearly 2 million cases of respiratory diseases in the last month, with 69,000 new cases in just 24 hours. Lahore and Multan are the worst affected by severe smog, with air quality, reaching alarming levels – Lahore’s AQI hit 1,100, and Multan’s surpassed 2,000. Alongside respiratory issues, cases of asthma, conjunctivitis, and heart disease are also rising. WWF – Pakistan urges the government to take urgent action to address the worsening air quality.
