PM Shehbaz reaffirms pledge to achieve SCO goals

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Sunday that Pakistan was keen to work with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s( SCO) member countries to promote cooperation in colorful fields and meet its pretensions.

During a meeting with SCO Secretary General Ambassador Zhang Ming in Lahore, Mr Sharif expressed the stopgap that all SCO member countries would continue to work together to make peace and enhance transnational solidarity and cooperation.

The high minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the principles of the SCO’s duty and the “ Shanghai Spirit ”.

He also stressed the challenges faced by SCO’s eight member countries including China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan — due to rising energy and food prices and the attendant food instability.

While appreciating SCO’s comprehensive development docket, the high minister emphasised that its core purpose was the growth and substance of member nations.

Seeks backing mechanisms for intra-organisation trade; wishes speedy recovery to US chairman.

The premier also stressed the need for developing applicable backing mechanisms to promoteintra-SCO trade as well as development enterprise.

He underscored Pakistan’s precedences and public development pretensions in areas similar as trade and frugality, connectivity and transport, poverty relief, energy, husbandry and food security, climate change, security, information technology and artistic relation.

The high minister appreciated the work of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of SCO( SCO – RATS), where Pakistan, along with other members, was playing an active part in fighting common security challenges.

PM wishes swift recovery to Biden

The SCO clerk general lauded Pakistan’s formative benefactions to the organisation and invited the high minister for a peak in the Uzbek megacity of Samarkand in September.
PM wishes nippy recovery to Biden

Independently, the high minister extended his good wishes to US President Joe Biden, who tested positive for Covid- 19 before this week.

“ I wish H.E. President Biden speedy and complete recovery from nimbus( contagion), ” a tweet from his sanctioned Twitter handle reads.

According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean- Pierre, Mr Biden was passing “ veritably mild symptoms ” and would continue to carry out all his duties in insulation.

Mr Biden tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday and has ago been insulated.
