According to police, the bus fell around 800 meters off a cliff in the southwest town of Yocalla, killing at least 31 people.

According to local police, a bus disaster in Bolivia has left at least 31 people dead and more than a dozen injured.

A police officer speaking from the local hospital stated Monday that the bus probably lost control and fell over 800 meters off a cliff in the southwest town of Yocalla.

Ten adults and four children were hospitalized among those hurt in the collision, with several of them in critical condition, a hospital official stated on camera.

According to the police officer, the bus’ speed may have contributed to the collision because the mountainous road is full of curves.
